IS AN EXTENSION WORTH IT?

The short answer is YES! The better question is “How can I make an extension best work for me?” Getting an extension means being in control and designing a space that it tailor made for your specific needs. Wether you need a home office, space for your favourite hobby or play area for a growing family and extension is a way to make this happen.   • Ensure you use similar materials to your existing property

  • Guarantee that not more than half of the surrounding land of your house will be covered by building work.

  • No extension can be forward elevation or side elevation in front of an highway

  • You must ensure that you do not exceed the maximum single-storey height of 4 metres

  • You can not extend farther than 8 metres beyond the rear wall of your home

  • Planning permission free extensions cannot include balconies, verandas or raised platforms.

 

An extension can also be a great investment. Sure, a conservatory might feel like an easier and faster option but a future buyer will be considering the quality of any build you add to your home and will be attracted to a purposeful and well designed space.
